My Therapy Services

Individual Therapy

I work with adults in individual treatment with the goal of reducing current symptoms, overcoming childhood trauma, or gaining personal growth and self-knowledge.  My approach is to support you in gaining insights and uncovering obstacles that may be holding you back. I work collaboratively from a strength-based perspective.

I understand that it can be difficult to take time from your busy schedule to come in to an office, so I offer teletherapy in addition to in-person visits. Teletherapy can eliminate your commute time and lead to less stress, and is a great option if you are sick or traveling.

Parenting Support

Parenting can be fraught with uncertainty and even pain, especially if you have your own history of trauma or mental health difficulties, or if your own experience being parented was not especially positive.  When you are suffering with your own internal stressors, it can impact your ability to attend to your young child, who depends upon you for everything from basic needs to nurturing.

This can impact your child’s development, leading to suffering and insecurity. I can help you to understand your own feelings, which in turn will make more room for you to recognize and respond to your child’s feelings, thus resulting in more positive experiences in parenting your child.

I take an active role in creating a supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere where you can explore the obstacles that are impacting you along the parenting journey. My goal is to help you feel less stress and more confident in your decisions, and to find more enjoyment and delight in your role.

Play Therapy
(Ages 0-5)

Working with children under the ages of 5 years old largely involves working with you and your child. Young children do not have the words to express what is going on in their internal world.

Perhaps you’re seeking support to be able to help co-regulate your infant, read cues or handle fussiness. You may be seeking help to better handle tantrums, managing anxious behaviors such as difficulty with separations, excessive clinginess, or aggressive behaviors.

As Maria Montessori stated: “Play is the work of the child.” When working with parents and young children, toys are the tools that are used, and child-led play and narration is the mode of treatment. I take a gentle approach in supporting you to better decipher what your child is communicating through their play and behaviors.

Therapist Consultation

I provide consultation to clinicians who want to deepen their work with clients, through a reflective practice facilitation model.  Reflective facilitation entails a collaborative relationship that fosters professional growth “by cherishing strengths and partnering around vulnerabilities to generate growth” (Shahmoon-Shanok, 1991). The benefits of reflective practice include: professional growth and development, reduction of job stress and burn-out, improvement in program quality and outcomes, and improved work relationships.

I am endorsed by the California Center for Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health as an Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist and Reflective Practice Mentor, and I can provide other practitioners hours towards endorsement both individually or in a group setting.

Fees

The fee for a 50-minute therapy session (in-office or telehealth) is $200. I also offer 50-minute in-home visits, within Playa Del Rey / Westchester area, if appropriate for $250. Find more details in the FAQs.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
